Never got to meet Roger, but Tina helped me and was great. I finish the project and wanted to send a picture of the finished product. It is a coffee table that the top comes off and has a play area for trains, cars, etc for my grandsons. She put a straight edge on the pieces of Walnut and claimed the pieces of wood. Great help

Roger and Tina are two of the NICEST people you will ever meet - very friendly and easy to deal with. They have a huge selection of native woods and offer planing services at an extremely reasonable rate. In addition they probably have forgotten more knowledge about wood than you will ever know and are a great source of information for your projects. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I found a listing of hardwood on Craigslist, then the Bonesteel Mill & Molding website. I contacted Roger with a few questions via email and he responded immediately. Two days later I drove to Sellersburg and met Tina. She was terrific. So very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Their inventory of native hardwoods is incredible! I learned alot and ended up purchasing more hardwood than I planned, but that's a good thing! Well worth the drive down and back from Indianapolis. I'll be back !

Roger was extremely friendly, and helpful showing me the woods he has available. Once I had made my decision, he quickly machined the boards 4S while I waited. I will definitely be giving him a call when I'm ready to start my next project.

Needed two cherry posts. Wife Trina took the time to S4S in a very professional manner. Enjoyed the visit. Pricing was very competitive and the service was outstanding. Was definitely worth the drive from Carmel, IN. Thanks again to the Bonesteels.

Just returned from a visit to pick up some small project lumber and a few poplar boards to rebuild a fence gate. Roger and his lovely wife Trina both took time to help me sort through his stock and were very patient with me rooting around in the 'bargain barn'. Wonderful people with great, friendly customer service and a great selection of lumber. Worth the 2 hour drive from Northern KY.

It was a pleasure working with Roger. He brought his portable mill to my land and milled about 1,700 board feet of wood. He has it down to a science. Every board was cut with great precision. Roger can instantly identify the best way to cut a log in order to get the most out of it. My scrap pile was nothing but bark. Highly recommended!

Roger is the best thing that happened to woodworking in these parts. I can call him up and make the short trip up to pick through his stock, not much picking as of it is all top notch. You can tell he loves what he does as he knows whats worth it and whats not. Roger, thanks for your service to our country, and our industry/hobby. Will only use you and refer you all the time.

Roger has been a great help in several projects - including a particularly oddball one requiring precise milling in metric dimensions. The pieces turned out as if they had been precisely milled billet from a machine shop! Definitely puts his customers ahead of his sales volume.

don't know if you remember, but this past Summer you helped me to get some cherry wood for a very special event, my Cub Scout Arrow of Light Awards.Because it was such a special commemorative item, something that symbolizes 5 years of hard work and multiple achievements for young men, I appreciate all of the time you took with me to help me in finding the wood. We had our awards ceremony this past Friday where they were awarded their Arrow of Light Plaques--all 16 of them. They turned out to be extremely beautiful and everyone raved about how brilliant they turned out. I really want to thank you for giving me some tips for milling and finishing the wood since I am a beginning wood worker. Your advice was very helpful. I will post some pictures soon.

I recently bought two loads of 8/4 maple from Roger for a woodworking bench that I'm going to build in a couple of weeks. My experience with Roger has been wonderful. He helped me find everything I needed for the project. I've started jointing and planing the material, and its looking great. I can't wait to finish this project so I can buy more lumber for a new project. . I'm a customer for life. Thanks Roger!

I can not say enough positive comments about Roger. I own 10 acres in Southern Indiana near Louisville, Kentucky and needed to take down 80 trees around my home and yard. I received multiple bids from companies to remove the trees or cut them down and grind the stumps. I was frustrated by the other bids and attitudes of the people bidding the job. Then, along comes a fellow veteran and a truly honest American. Roger gave me an incredibly fair price for the trees. Roger treated my property as if it was his own. He was always conscientious to prevent damage and to minimize the mess. In the end, Roger always communicated to me about the process. He was always honest and to say he works hard is an extreme understatement. I feel priveledged to have met him and his wife and now consider them as true friends. If anyone reading this considers hiring Roger or buying his material and you want to talk to a past client, please call me. Roger has my number and permission for you to call me. If I only had one word to describe his work ethic, business practices, communication skills and honesty it would be "Awsome!!" Thank you again for the great job Roger.

Roger and his father were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and quite efficient while working with our HUGE 120 ft. Red Oak milling project. Very fair prices were offered for moving and milling the tree. We could not be happier with the work done. Lumber was stacked beautifully at site so that we could move it the next day. We always appreciate being able to trust the people who we hire to work on our property...Thank you Roger! Perfect job, Most highly recommend. Jason and Alana A.

I'm a custom drum builder and I build stave drums using solid boards that I get from Roger. I can't say enough good things about Roger and Bonesteel Sawmill, Roger clearly loves what he does and it shows in the quality of his work. I recently purchased some black locust and walnut from Roger for a drum kit and I got exactly what I needed. Plus, Roger threw in a couple extra boards from some different species I am interest in using to make drums so I can see what they look like and test them to see how they respond to the processes I use to make drums. Roger is a super-nice guy and a real pleasure to do business with, he couldn't be more helpful. His prices are fair and reasonable and the service is second-to-none. If you need lumber, you won't find a better place to get it than Bonesteel.

Just picked up some maple, walnut, and poplar. I cannot express enough how great of deal he offers, and how nice and genuine Roger is. Coming from Indianapolis to Sellersburg location is a little less than an hour and a half, but it is completely worth the trip and Roger is great to deal with, and his selection is great. I look forward to buying from him again in the future.

I found Roger's site, and it took only a day or so before Roger had responded to my email inquiry, and left me a voicemail message. Within a couple of days, I was back in touch with him to work out a time to meet and select some wood to start a project with. Roger was very quick to help this newbie select appropriate wood for some of my first projects. Together, we picked through some Maple, Cherry, Cedar and Walnut, and I'm letting it acclimate to my shop before working with it. The few pieces I ran through my jointer and planer (I just couldn't wait!) look terrific, and those were far from the best boards we picked. The rest will meet metal in a week or two... ;-) Drop Roger an email message, or call him. You'll be glad you did.

It is not easy finding good hardwood at a fair price. I was excited when I stumbled onto the Bonesteel website. Today I went to pick up some 8/4 maple to begin working on a heavy hand tool bench. Not only are the prices at Bonesteel fair, but Roger seemed to be a great guy that is as into woodworking as I am. I was very please with the service and product. I will defiantly be going back in the future!

You can't go wrong working with Roger. He spent a LOT of time finding and making me very clean 11ft+ 6" wide Black Locust boards. The boards are very nice, straight, and exactly what I wanted. Price was very fair and communication was excellent. You don't need to look further, just give Roger a call, you will be glad you did.

I had a great experience working with Roger. Like some other posters, I found him through Craigslist. I needed enough locust wood to make four raised garden beds. Roger cut my boards and posts very quickly and for a very reasonable price. He was a gentleman to deal with and even offered to throw in some 1"x1" pieces to use as tomato stakes! I have already recommended Roger to friends and family looking to build garden beds, and I will definitely use his services again for my future lumber needs.

I found Roger through craigslist after much searching for a specific type of wood. He is a great communicator and a trustworthy person. The black locust, he provided, exceeded my expectations and was very fairly priced. I will absolutely buy lumber from him in the future and recomend him to anyone needing wood. Thanks again Roger.

I am so happy to have found Bonesteel. As a professional woodworker I have found that looking for hardwood lumber can be more difficult as you would think. The big businesses have rather large order minimums, such as 300 board ft or a tractor trailer load (sounds absurd I know, but I’ve had businesses tell me that when I call them for a quote). Being able to buy only as much as I need for my projects, be it for a dining room table or a small step stool, has greatly helped my business. Not to mention Roger is friendly, timely has great prices and all that other good stuff. I look forward to doing business with Bonesteel again. Also he has a cool last name.

I have to say that I enjoyed the interaction and personal service I got from Roger almost as much as I am enjoying the high quality lumber he sold me at bargain prices. Where today can you go and find someone who's approachable and knowledgeable, accommodating and attentive, interested in your project as much as in making a sale and who has such high quality lumber that he's perfectly willing you should pick through to your heart's content? Not anywhere else that I'm aware of. That's why I'm only too happy to drive the 115 miles down from Indianapolis to buy all my woodworking project stock from Roger. I like the service, I like the product and really, I like that I'm supporting a business whose owner is an ordinary guy and not a remote, multi-tiered money vacuum.

I had a extremely posative experience with Bonesteel Mill. A large cherry tree fall in my yard, Roger and his father came to my property and set up their portable sawmill. Their mill is new and extremely accurate and efficient. They quickly set up their mill and began to saw up the cherry logs into usable lumber! Before long they harvested the entire tree. I now will have cherry boards for my kitchen remodel. I also bought more cherry lumber from their mill to add to my stockpile so I have enough wood for the large project. Pricing is very reasonable. Great job!

Purchased around 550 ft of poplar. Roger was very friendly and cooperative, was easy to talk too and patient, while i made up my mind. He delivered the wood super fast. His prices are great. He even helped me carry it into my house. He gave me a few extra boards. The wood was very good quality. I did not have a single board that was unusable. None of the boards had problems with cupping, bowing or splitting. The boards were very dimensionally accurate. Using the lumber as siding for a room in my house. Looks great.
